The cost of love

Nd told me that he heard on the radio...saying that Singaporean was rated 1st in the world for most money spent on Vday, with an average of $500. It seems like a huge sum to me at first.. but den i realised... its Singapore after all. The cost of living here is relatively high and so obviously the cost of love is high as well.
Most of the restuarants changed to set menu on Vday, with a charge of $100+ bucks per pax.
so 2 pax = $200+++
Most guys will buy a bouquet of flowers, even though i think its extremely unneccesary, and the price of roses will be jack up to bout $70-90 per bouquet, depending on size.
And if you add in a nice practical and decent gift, its about $100++ or so.
So actually it not difficult at all to hit that figure.
wat an expensive day!

Me and nd had dinner at Le Papillon. It a pretty and cosy restaurant at Red Dot Traffic. And their food is pretty good. Every dish from the appetizer down to the desserts were good and exquiste. Their Vday menu was quite worth it ($108 per pax) compared to other restaurants which serve simple salads and soups followed by main course.

They gave us a free shooter (watermelon juice with a tinge of tobasco sauce) Sounds gross but taste pretty refreshing!
There's complimentary champhagn for us... and each lady gets to recieve a red rose from the restaurant! so sweet right..
and there's 5 dishes, including desserts.
The important thing is that... you actually FEEL FULL after the meal... because usually at such fine-dining restuarants, the portions are real small.
I highly recommend the place for Vday next year!

Thank you dear!
Simply for being beside me these years.
And i'll use your gift to capture many more moments of us.
luv luv luv.
AND YOU ARE BANNED FROM BUYING FLOWERS OR GIFTS ABOVE QUOTA OF $50 NEXT YEAR!!!!
NO JOKE OK!

Happy CNY '08

My relatives have finally returned to hometown.

Gosh..20 people sleeping over in my house is really no joke man..
you open a room door and you'll see bodies lying all over the place. >.<

This CNY has been the most energy-draining period for me. ( Have yet to recover fully from it)
its eating and mahjong-ing every day!!
yes.. its hk tradition to mahjong and i cant believe even my little cousin of age 9 can play mahjong better than me! i'm ultra noob. prob the most.
WX, CINDY, KEN, LARRY, JO, MARC, SHAOWEI!!
me and nd needs immediate mahjong training.... =<

Cruise was rather boring. Again, it was non-stop eating/mahjong-ing/gambling....does seem like there's anything else interesting to do.
me and nd went to the casino to try out our luck on the last night of cruise, and yes. you got it. We DUN have luck. lost $50 betting on BIG and SMALL!!!
oh well... lucky the money was sponsored by you-know-who..hohoho.

Next year, they are planning to go Cambodia - where one of the 7 wonders lies... and i swear there's nothing much to do there except gambling, eating and beaching.. gosh.

CoCo Lin - my cousin! She's only 12 yrs old, but uber mature, and standing at a height of 165! Do we look lik sistas? lol

ok. my bro who thinks he's a celeb. He's always in the cap-and-shades look. But i think the only good thing i can point out bout him is that his singing rocks (nd think so) hahaha

aye.. shall con'd another day. its 4.29 am now.

HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!

dream a little dream of me

Remember when i was young, adults used to question me - "what are your dreams when you grow up?"
most of the time, i will have an answer to it almost immediately.
teacher, doctor, lawyer, police woman, tai tai, business woman.. you name it, i got it.

But now, as i reach the phase of my life where i got to really choose my career path, my future.. i seem to have lost my direction.

People always say, "life is when you pursue your dreams." But in reality, how many of such dreams can really be pursued? In the world now, everything is about being practical, keeping within the safezone and bringing home the bread.

This was exactly my thought when i first decided to major econs. Not because i love it. But because i need it. Because it opens the door to a better future. Sadly, it is not my dream.

I know banking and finance is what i ought to do and what i should do, and i dont really detest it. But the inner me will always seem to question myself... "is this what you really want?"

But i also know, what i wanna be, what i wanna do, is totally a far-fetched dream. Something that i can only continue dreaming of. I dunno if time and again, chances were given to me to realise this dream, to be a step closer to my desire, but because i lack the the bravery, i lack the confidence, i rejected them.

Now all i hope is that my passion for graphs, charts, numerical figures, calculus, etc will grow with time. and grow long enough to last me this lifetime.

For the bread. For the assurance. For my parents.

2007 ended really sweetly for me in the company of my family anf friends.
Nothing beats the passion and love for each other, even in the simplest ways.

My short HK trip was nothing fantastic.
Because i had NO TIME TO SHOP..=(
Know the feeling when you walk by shops and more shops but cant take the time to stop and look at the things?
Ya, it sucks.
But my aunt's wedding was a blast! The wedding was held in the morning..kinda American style
The wedding ceremony was on the nice green grassland with magnificent view, white pure decorations with purple flowers all around, a big white stage for them to say their vows...i think i wanna hold my wedding tat way too!
Will upload pics soon.

Hokkaido trip was great! i love that place. Beautiful sceneries, lovely people, lots of yummy food.
but the weather was really cold, it snowed since the first day we reached.
My hands and legs freezed upteen times, fross bites kicked in if i stand on the snow for more than 10 mins.
Nd was so concerned at first... but as the days goes by.. he couldnt be bothered anymore when i tell him. =(

Hokkaido Part 1

Yixuan (nd's cousin) and me

gosh..they love playing with snow, always snow battling.
the younger cousin threw a snowball at my face once, i was caught unaware ok >.<

Nd and me trying to join the geese in their hotsprings!

Left to right: Ayu, Jolene, Auntie Cecilia, me, Nd

Ayu was our tour guide. She was from Taiwan, but studied in Japan and lived their for 17 years! She's a damn interesting tour guide la, first time i go on a tour and i managed to stay awake most of the time during the long travelling hours..
Joke 1:
Japanese people are very bad at english even though they try very hard to learn it. Once, an American man and a Japanese girl bumped into each other on a street. Their things flew out of their hands and fell onto the floor. After they helped each other to pick up their things...

Japan girl: Thank you.

American man: thank you too.

Japan girl looked a little lost and replied: thank you 3.

American man was puzzled and said: thank you for?

Japan girl thought this American man was so polite and thank her so many times...

so she replied: thank you 5!

....and ran off.

One of my fav pic...we were at the Chocolate factory that made the delicious BAI SE LIAN REN.

Group photo of the whole tour group.. our group was the biggest with 12 ppl.

Will upload more Japan photos when i get them from nd's mummy. =D

A miracle happened in 2008!!
Nd is now offically a blogger...LOL. And i swear he blogs more than me now. So some pics i wont be uploading here. If you're curious bout what he writes... you can go check it out at
